LOOKOUT!!

In our fifth year of the  Jr. High Mission Experience we will again work through the mininstry of Camp Lookout. Camp Lookout is based on Lookout Mountain and is part of the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church camping program. We will participate in their Junior High Service Camp which is a mix of service work to the camp, service to the homeless, helping the community churches, aiding the widows in the community, and all the fun that can happen at camp (swimming, creek stomping, caving, etc).

Junior High Missions experience is open this year to graduated 6th graders thru graduated 8th graders (the 6th grade grads is a new addition).

When: June 7th – 11th. We will leave the church parking lot approximately at 6:00am on Monday the 7th and return around 2:00pm on Friday the 11th.

Where: Camp Lookout, which is on top of Lookout Mountain, Chattanooga area, but its actually in Rising Fawn, GA as addresses go

Cost: $200 dollars which includes your meals and activities while at camp. You will need to bring some money for food on the road & some camp memorabilia. Selling Missions Stock is available after Easter to help offset the cost of the mission & encouraging others to get involved in your missions experience.

Limit: We will limited on our group size depending on the Adult Leadership available. We hope to take a missions team of 24, with 6 – 8 adult or young adult leaders. Because of the work related projects at the camp, not all our leaders have to be driving adults, but we do need a good number to get down there. Deadline: April 18th – Deposit $75 & Paperwork (Camp Lookout Registration Form 2010 & CAMPER HEALTH FORM 2010)

Note: Taking a Missions Stock Packet, available Sunday after Easter, will be considered a sign of committing to the missions team.

After just a nuts day of weather apocalypse we made the trek down from Hendersonville to Murfreesboro for Warmth in Winter. We made it just in time for the start of the 1st session. Warmth in Winter : Jan 29th - 31st, 2010

Warmth In Winter 2010 is coming soon. We begin registering now (you can turn in money this Sunday). You can register at church on Sundays or Register Online. Cost will be $125 for your food, transportation, and registration. Late night pizza and stuff like that is on your own. It’s going to be a great time, so don’t miss out. The conference office is also asking for each youth to have their own registration form this year in order to be registered. So, even if you don’t turn in money this week, but plan to come, please fill this out ASAP. Warmth in Winter Registration Form

Photos are a powerful narrative of what we are doing in ministry & I know family members like to look at and share them. This allows you to email links or such of photos to your own friends and family, but to download and take into possession an image is protected.

Yes folks! Its October and we are open for business at the Pumpkin Patch. Props to all those that showed up to help unload. Thanks to the Hatfields for providing some extra muscle with members of the Hendersonville Commando football team. Another big shout out to Devon & Christopher for being the first to show and pretty much the last to leave. Y’all were great.

We need folks to help man the Pumpkin Patch now, so drop and email or a phone call to me to sign yourself up for some spots, or just visit the patch. If I am not actively calling then the volunteer notebook will be at the Patch main table.

Some things are quite prophetic in the world of art & jest. So how bout combine some simple art drawings with prophetic messages to the church. You get someone like Naked Pastor or Cartoon Church which are fun & tough to take at times.

We had a lot of fun sitting in the breezeway at Camp Symonette in Eleuthera Bahamas making up songs about our shared experiences. This particular song is called “VitaMalt” the story of a drink. Apologies for my singing so close to the camera microphone.
